Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Autofocus Lens

September 16th, 2009 admin 4 comments

Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Autofocus Lens + EX Filter + Cleaning Cloth for Canon EOSThe Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG MACRO Telephoto zoom interchangeable lens for Canon AF with excellent cost performance and optimized for use with digital SLR cameras. Capable of macro photography, this lens has a 1:2 maximum close-up magnification at the 300mm focal length. SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass. They used SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass in this lens for excellent correction of chromatic aberration. This also corrects for fluctuation of aberration due to focusing.

Thinking about the cost I compensated for this lens, I’m not complaining whatsoever of concentrating speed, slow aperture,VR and so on. If this lens would have had every thing, Sigma would cost it at 1200$.

This lens is definitely an extention of my birding pastime and is really a excellent companion on my birding trips. The versatile macro lets you grab the mini globe of insects, flowers, lizards, and so on. A large as well as for naturalists.

Combining it with my D50 delivers great punchy colours, thanks towards the APO lens components.

A really large as well as in my viewpoint may be the small Chromatic aberrations at broad available shots. On my 6MP D50, CA is hardly visible even in higher contrast circumstances.

The lense is great compare towards the cost you spend. Very sharp and bright. You are able to discover a small little bit soften in the finish of 300mm, you have to quit down a little to obtain crispier outcome. The Bokeh also acceptable. Macro 1:2 is really a bonus for this lense.

More than all this lense is dependable, particularly whenever you hunt outdoor. Worth much more than what you spend. A should purchase for all individuals searching for any lengthy finish zoom and do not wish to market their vehicle.

Pros:
- Small chromatic aberrations at broad available. Even higher contract shots are passable.

-  Fairly sharp at broad available at 300mm (Than competitors)

-  Great Macro mode

- Great develop high quality and finish

- Fairly silent (Obviously absolutely nothing in comparison to silent wave) but much better than competitors.

- Great concentrating accuracy, say 85% in regular problems

Cons:
- Concentrate sometims hunts at 300mm in reduced contrast circumstances and confusing backgrounds. otherwise spot on

- Front of lens rotates when focussing
