A Canon Powershot Review : Love It

I got this camera new and think it’s just sweet and I still don’t know how to use it completely. One thing I love about this Camcorder is it features an external mic plug in jack. The built in mic sounds cheap like all camcorders. I have a Heil Studio Mic that sounds awesome so it’s great having it plugged into the camera, sound improves greatly.

It’s also great for taking still shots. They are clearly then you would expect. My previous Canon Camcorder doesn’t take the great still shots. This Camera is already top notch and blows my older camera out of the water, though I still use the older one. There is a built in flash card slot for the still shots.

This was an upgrade from my old canon camcorder. The difference is vast! This is lightweight, small and fits in the same camera case as my digital camera making it easy to take both with me at the same time. Get this camera, you will not be disappointed.

The built in lens cover closes when the camera is turned off automatically. The flash card makes it easy and fast to shoot and then download without any hassles. The multi-facial recognition and image stabilization feature makes it easy to pan and zoom for someone with shaky hands like me. My wife really enjoys this cam because it fits easily into her small hands unlike the older camera.

Only a couple of cons that I have with this camera the first is. I had to buy a fire wire cable because Canon NEVER supplies these cables, which I think, is wrong. I knew that Canon didn’t supply a fire wire cable because it increases the profitability, but that was no big deal, since I have one for my old Canon camera.

No wide angle lens, but even worse, NO NECK STRAP. Sorry Canon, but that is really low class of you.Come on Canon, how cheesy can you get? My main complaint with this is, I paid so much more for this camera than I did my old ZR-90, and it came with a wide-angle lens and a neck strap to carry it around with. NOT THIS ONE. No wide angle lens, but even worse, NO NECK STRAP. So I either have to carry it around by the hand strap, or drop another 20 bucks to buy the neck strap. Sorry Canon, but that is really low class of you.

This is not a con if you already have it but if you don’t you should consider. The camera does not come with a memory card so you need to purchase it separately. The battery included does not have a great life, last about an hour. I had to cut my first shooting with this camera because of the battery life, even though I had fully charged it.
